Today's newsstands don't sell a broom, the price of Internet advertising has plummeted and newspapers earn less from advertising than they did forty years ago.
2. My impression is that newspapers still survive because, like radio and television, they are judges and part of a corrupt system together with politicians and big business/fortune.
3. The Internet is more efficient than traditional media because it consumes less and produces more.
4. When you search for "running shoes store" in Google you are looking for a running shoes eCommerce, while when you open the newspaper El mundo, whether digital or paper, what you are looking for is news. Trying to catch your eye with a running store banner or steal your page is much less efficient because it wasn't what you were looking for.
