Tal vez hace algunos años pudiéramos salir adelante dignamente trabajando de reponedor en un supermercado, conduciendo una máquina sencilla o como temporeros eventuales en el campo,, pero hoy no porque todas esas tareas están siendo realizadas por máquinas que no cobran sueldo, no tienen bajas laborales ni tampoco tienen días de descanso,… and that is that whoever can be replaced by a robot will be replaced by a robot.

We live better and better and we will live even better every day thanks to machines. In my first job back in 2002, when I was 26 years old, I had a secretary and today I do not have one even though I am the CEO of a company, and I do not have one because I have a phone where my agenda, my calendars, my mail and everything is synchronized with the people who work with me, 15 years ago there were 10 secretaries for every one that there is today. We have seen how bank branches have closed and continue to close because people no longer carry a passbook to have their transactions printed on it and soon we will see how there will no longer be cashiers in supermarkets, truck, cab and bus drivers.

The most watched program on television, yes, there are people who continue to watch television several hours a day, is one where people who have done nothing important in their lives are dedicated to whispering about other people who have also done nothing important in their lives; this program is called Sálvame and is broadcast for 5 hours a day, which says very little about our cultural level. Lo curioso es que a diferencia de la Edad Media donde los siervos de la gleba no podían tocar un libro en su vida, aquí ambas castas culturales: la del Sálvame y la de Margarita Sala llevan en el bolsillo del pantalón la Wikipedia, Google Translate o Coursera por citar algunos ejemplos. El conocimiento es hoy más grande y está más abierto que nunca en la historia, pese a ello los del Sálvame lo desprecian mientras que los de Margarita Salas lo endiosan. Y es que ese conocimiento marca la diferencia entre hacer máquinas o ser sustituido por ellas porque si lo tienes puedes elegir bando pero si te falta el conocimiento no.
Restlessness divine treasure
